Most of that other topic neglected the 'intent' behind the technology and
the 'personal responsibility' aspect of it.  Which is why I posted this
separately.

I don't think you can separate the two.  The intent and personal
responsibility is crucial to understanding and moving forward with the
technology in a meaningful way.  Many accept (use of) technology as
religion / dogma.  It needs it's checks and balances, a so called reality
check like everything else.

Everyone loves to talk about DRM and free.  However, the minute you bring
up personal responsibility (the concept of theft and that I'm actually
stealing), everyone wants to scatter like cockroaches and the dialogue
ceases.  Maybe there's something in that all by itself.

I don't think you can objectively pick a side without looking at all the
angles.
