[lug] Problem with avahi upgrading to FC9

 I upgraded direct from FC7 to FC9 on some machines.

1 machine went OK, don't remember what I did when I saw this problem.

The next 2, I figured I would uninstall avahi and reinstall.

The uninstall took a whole bunch of stuff with it.

Re-installed, Gnome was dead.? 
Spent a long time installing, uninstalling, re-installing.? Couldn't get Gnome working with all its pieces.

What to do?
