When you say "removed from VolGroup00", how exactly did you add and remove
it?  If you did a "pvcreate /dev/sdb2; vgextend /dev/VolGroup00 /dev/sdb2"
to add it then you've essentially done the LVM equivalent of creating a new
file-system.  So, your only chance to get the data off that drive is to
manually reconstruct the logical volume.

So, you might have to resort to pulling the data off your backups.  :-)
