[lug] optical drive replacement for a powerbook G4

Yeah. I've done a HDD replacement on my iBook as well as a couple
Powerbooks for work. They're definitely a bit tricky. I'm a fan of the
guides that ifixit.com has. They usually have great pictures and
step-by-step instructions.
Also when I take the machine apart I usually take a piece of notebook
paper and draw a (really simple) diagram of the machine and place the
screws on the diagram where they go. Last I checked ifixit.com sells
some replacement screws too if you need them.. not sure how far back
in Apple's product line they carry screws for though.
Just be glad you're not working on an eMac. Those things are just
horrible inside.
And yes, the Mac Shack is great as well as Boulder Mac Repair (I think
that's what it's called. Up on north broadway near Ideal markets)
