I used these XBee modules that I got from Sparkfun (in Boulder, though I
mail-ordered them).  These are wireless modules that can do mesh
networking, and have 8 I/O pins.  I think one of them can be used as an
analog input to read voltage -- I believe a recent "Make" magazine that had
the Kill-a-watt that wrote to "twitter" did this.

It's not Ethernet, but you could hook one XBee module to the computer, via
a RS-232 or USB to XBee module, and then have the other XBee module located
where you need to do the reading.  You then use serial commands to read the
data.

I was using mine as a wireless serial pass-through, so I haven't done the
voltage reading.

Another option is that I have a volt meter that has a RS-232 port on it so
you can read data from it from a computer -- if you have a computer near
where you need to read the data.
