I found a bug in Java once.  I'd been writing Java for less than a month.

I was doing an FTP client, which is supposed to open a socket to the 
server and then listen on the same port it used in the socket (for the 
server to connect back to).  Java wouldn't allow that.

I wasn't the first to report it to Sun.  But I might have been the first 
to vote for fixing it.
