Just tried to get a credit line for my 9-year-old cash-flow positive
business to buffer hiring a new employee. This process was incredibly
arduous. I eventually gave up, because they wanted the financial
statements from another company in which I have a controlling
interest. The loan officer said that it was just standard operating
procedure nowadays.
ViaWest stopped accepting credit cards for monthly payments. This is
a big source of reward miles for me. :) I complained, but it turns
out many other people complained, and they started accepting credit
cards again. While this cuts their profit margin, they have an
increased profit margin from lock-in. I pay around $125/kwh for the
extra power we need. Obviously, I can't just put in a line of my
own...
