[lug] Mail list managers

Question for you all,
We are looking to either migrate to an external mail list hosting
service or migrate to a more current mail list manager internally.  

Do any of you know of a reliable and inexpensive host for discussion
lists of up to 5000 subscribers per list?

What internal mail list managers are folks leaning towards lately?  I
know blug uses mailman and it seems to be the standard.
