[lug] Multiple XDM/KDM/GDM?

Has anyone here ever set up to run multiple simultaneous xdm/kdm/gdm setups (e.g., access with alt-F7, and alt-F8 consoles), where one is to serve locally, and the other is pointed to a remote host? I'm not even sure this is a valid question, but the corollary would be the desire run the usual local display manager on alt-F7 console, and dedicate alt-F8 to a full xdm style display of a remote machine...in which case physically walking to the remote machine would still leave the alt-F7 console as local to that machine. What is involved in actually making multiple consoles run X11 which would be dedicated to different hosts?
