[lug] Black bar between pages when printing 2 pages/sheet.

I have just tried a few experiments. First, GIMP displays the documents
correctly, with no black background. But more tellingly, my wife's ubuntu
laptop prints them correctly using the same commands and the same printer.
(And the same driver!)

A few months ago I was building Ghostscript for my N900. I wonder if I built
it and installed it on this machine and forgot about it.  I'll check that
tonight.
