I usually just do it in Amarok. It lets me change common data one.
So I can correct the artist name in all the mislabeled songs
simultaneously, then step through the files one at a time to rix the
title. Also, if the filename has the data in a standard format,
Amarok will guess the metadata for you and save it back to the mp3
file.
I don't know that it is any better than any other solution, but if you
are already using Amarok it is quite convenient.
