I was google searching for information on virtualization last night and read that the free version of virtualbox does not support USB devices. Is this true? If it does not support USB, my guess is that it does not support windows media player either. Anybody know what virtualization packages support USB and other common features like the ability to play movies and music?

I was planning on making Ubuntu64 10.10 my virtualization host and windows 7 a guest. If I do that, can take multiple snap shots of my guests and play movies and music using windows media player?

Is there a good linux substitute for windows media player for Linux?

If I use VMWare, what product do I want? The player, the server, the workstation...? What is the advantage to paying for a version of VMWare or VirtualBox?

I need to do software development in both Windows with Microsoft Office and Visual Studio and Linux with C++ and Java/python/ruby. I also need SQL Server and Oracle. Can I do this with a linux host and still listen to MP3 and internet broadcasts while I work?

Thanks,
Siegfried
