 Mr. Haemer,

We apologize for the difficulty you have encountered in trying to use
Revenue Online.  This has particularly affected users running older Macs.
Some users have been able to work around this by downloading the Google
Chrome browser and then downloading Silverlight in that browser.  In light
of the problem some users have experienced, our vendor is
working on rebuilding the application so it will no longer have the
Silverlight requirement, but that solution is not expected to be complete
until later this year.

I can't use the Colorado Income Tax website, because the software they've
chosen for it, Microsoft Silverlight, won't run on any computer I have,
either at home or at work.



For what it's worth, I'm a computer professional, so this isn't ignorance or
poor resources on my end. :-)



Can you offer any workaround that doesn't require buying an entire new
computer?



Amusingly, the part of the site I can view says this:



 Revenue Online requires installation of Microsoft Silverlight (similar to
Adobe Flash). Installing Silverlight provides:


   - A more user-friendly experience when filing and paying.
   - Improved security to protect your tax information.
   - Better system performance by using the latest software.

 None of these is true, but the most humorous mistake is in the
parenthetical remark: "similar to Adobe Flash."  If it were similar to Adobe
Flash, it would run on my computers. :-)
