There are some commercial email software packages that allow senders
to remove messages thoughtlessly sent to others' mailboxes.  The
recall message is what you see when you are a recipient using an email
system from a different vendor that doesn't have that capability.

I find the concept creepy, personally.  "Hey, Mister Postman/Ms
Postwoman, could you please un-send that letter you picked up a couple
of days ago?  Thanks."
