[lug] converting to F16 init script format

I'm getting ready to upgrade an important server from F12 to F16.  My
F12 system has a Drupal based document management system that utilizes
some OpenOffice auto-conversion stuff.  It requires an init script to
work.  I also have an init script installed for Clamav.

I need to figure out what the process is for migrating the init scripts.
I see /etc/init.d is still there.  Does that mean my old scripts still
work?  How do I start/stop them - "service" is being deprecated, right?
