Hi,
I'm trying to install a Samsung CLP-325W printer on Debian
Lenny (helix 2.6.26-2-686) with KDE. When I plug in the USB
cable /var/log/messages shows:
Dec 19 14:39:49 helix kernel: [285941.215726] usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3

Dec 19 14:39:49 helix kernel: [285941.551760] usbcore: registered new interface driver usblp
When I use the KDE Printer wizard to add the printer,
it shows a menu of local devices:
Local System
Parallel
Serial
Serial Port #1
USB
Others
HP Fax (HPLIP)
HP Printer (HPLIP)
SCSI Printer
and an empty text box "URI:".
Clicking USB and "next" gives an error popup: "Empty URI".
I tried using "usb 2-1" in the URI text box, but that gives
"The local URI doesn't correspond to a detected port. Continue?"
If I continue, and select Samsun model CLP-300 (the closest available),
and pick driver Samsung CLP-300 (Foomatic + foo2qpdl) [recommended],
I get another popup: Unable to load the requested driver ...
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve
