After a year of working on a book project, I'm finally getting back to
my BeagleBox project. It's focused on BeagleBoard at the moment but
once I get a stable distribution built I'll look at supporting other ARM
devices. The Cotton Candy is on my list.
Last night I tried to buy a Raspberry Pi. They went on sale at 11pm
MST. They authorized two resellers in the UK. Both sites went down
immediately. I finally got through on one site (RS) but could only find
a page that allowed you to "register interest" in the device, not
actually purchase it. That registration never completed - constant
timeouts trying to submit it.
After an hour of page reloads I finally got into the other site,
Farnell, and actually made it to the point of filling in their forms to
place an order - only to find out they don't offer an option of shipping
to the US.
So no joy on that one. Hopefully someone else had better luck.
