The June Boulder Linux User Group meeting is coming up.

   Talk : Software Development In The Trenches...

          Applied Trust is on Walnut Street in downtown Boulder. It is
          the door just west of Amante Coffee.

Parking : Parking on the street is free after 7pm and there are 2 public
          garages on Walnut at $1.25/hour and bike parking on the sidewalk
          in front of the office.

    Bus : Less than 2 blocks from Broadway which is served by the Skip busses.
          Less than 4 blocks from the Boulder Transit Center which serves
          almost all routes.


Summary of 'Software Development In The Trenches...'

Late last year I somehow managed to haul myself out of bed before 7am on
a Saturday and attend a Code Retreat.  We spent the day, except for a
lunch break, splitting into groups of 2 or 3 people and spend 30 minutes
experimenting with developing software.  At the end of the 30 minutes
you delete the progress so far and start over with a new group.
The goal is that you should not be able to complete the program, but
instead you should concentrate on software development best practices
such as testing, documentation, pair-programming, and even refactoring
came into play.
In this talk I will talk about my experiences at my first Code Retreat
and how it has impacted my software development since.

Food will be available at the meeting location, so please show up around 6:45 pm
and join us for a bite to eat. We'll start the meeting about 7:15.
