running it on the same system that a hard realtime program is running
on. It consumes significant system resources, even on a fairly
hefty box. But then, I wouldn't recommend running data analysis on
the same box a realtime system is running on anyways, it complicates
the system too much, and boxes have gotten so inexpensive there isn't much
financial reason not to separate them.

Other than that, I'd wholeheartely recommend vmware for running the
windows data analysis.
