I know it's lame to reply to myself, but it's also pretty lame to not use the
right network driver. Sorry for the stupidity, but in case anyone ever decides
to pick up a $20 D-Link off the shelf from CompUSA, use the rtl8139 driver...
Despite what other documentation says. At least give it a try.
