I'm looking into that now, but I think the answer is "yes".
I just got my first bill from Amazon for AWS, and it's $50 for August.
I set up my Red Hat servers ( 1 prod and 1 dev ) on August 18, and
all it's doing is displaying a static page with a picture and some
text that says "Coming Soon - September 2013".
And so far I've run up $10 in charges for September, and it's only the 3rd.
At this rate, it will be costing me $100 a month, or $1,200 per year.
I could buy a used PC, get "business class" internet service, and
host it at home for less than that.
So the idea of just letting Word Press host my site -- at least for
now -- is starting to look good, simply because I want to focus on
getting my book published and promoted, and not on learning how to run
a Linux server ( which _is_ something I want to do, but I have other
things to focus on right now ).
