[lug] large file management

It seems like the Unison users and hackers mailing lists aren't quite dead and it seems like it's the perfect tool for this job. I say that only on the strength of a friend's recommendation some time ago. 

So, if it were my problem to solve, I think I'd learn Unison for the 3-way sync, and rdiff-backup for the off-site 4th.
