[lug] phones and linux mint

Hi,

There's a known problem mounting an iphone4 on linux mint,
and an messy workaround

Instead of the hassle, maybe I should just switch phones.

What not-too-expensive smart phones play well with linux mint?
I want to be able to down/up load contacts, photos, and music.
