[lug] Yahoo drops Firefox?

Last week I noticed that yahoo.com was mucked up on all my Linux systems
at work and home. I also use MyYahoo for news aggregation and it too
was mucked up. My wife checked it on her Apple tablet and I discovered
that what I was seeing was actually a mobile version of yahoo.com and
MyYahoo was not available at all. I use Yahoo for news in a somewhat
painful ongoing attempt to avoid using one company for all services (re:
I don't use google for anything but a search engine except when forced
to use them for apps on my Android devices).

Yesterday I installed a user agent switcher in Firefox and discovered
that if I set my user agent to Chromium 25 for Ubuntu (but not Chrome)
it works just like it did before. An email to Yahoo support has not
been responded to, sans an automated reply.

It appears that Yahoo has either dropped support for Firefox or all
Linux sans Ubuntu (which I don't use). I'm on Fedora. Maybe they just
don't like Fedora. Seems silly since all that was required was to
pretend to be something else and it works.

Of course, not returning to the Default User Agent caused an email
through RedHat's web site to cause me more grief.

Just thought I'd pass that along for anyone who might have been stuck in
the same situation.

I think they call them "web sites" cuz they're sticky, messy, hard to
see and and hard to get out of.
