[lug] Two crash messages I can't figure out

I am getting these crashes and can't figure them out. Maybe someone can
help.

 

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 that performs three functions: vpn, samba and
Workstation 11 running a Win 10 VM. I installed and use the Mate desktop
since all communications with the server are remote. Everything SEEMS to be
working properly, but I keep getting these annoying crash messages:

/mnt/backup is a mounted drive where I put backups generated by rsync, but I
can find no reference to this alleged grub-mount command line command
anywhere on the system using find and grep.

And this Vmware error
