[lug] New to BLUG router question

No - I run the stock FW from Ubiquiti - and yes, it updates with
commercially acceptable cadence. (at least in my opinion) which is more
than I can say for most consumer grade equipment. I haven't used dd-wrt in
so long, I can't really speak to the security / patch cadence.
Also - the functionality in the ubnt firmware is such that it hasn't left
me _wanting_ to switch to another flavor.
