Can we start calling this Poettering's disease? :)

Sounds like another example of what I call the "'improve' it until it's
broken" school of development. Are most (all?) of the current desktop
developers a bunch of n00bs who didn't grow up with the Unix philosophy
of "do one thing; do it well"? I guess that explains CSD too.
