[lug] Ping for ARP?

Hi,

I'm trying to find out exactly where in a short local hop some packets are disappearing. I'm almost certain I know where, but there are a couple of switches and a router in between. They don't have an IP address, so I can't use ping. Is there some equivalent using ARP which might tell me about losses?
