[lug] Question on "on-line" access to usenet news via NNTP

Hello!  I recently switched to a new ISP and I'm trying to
use their news server via NNTP from my RH system.  Netscape works,
but trn fails with "Unknown response code 480 from news.earthlink.net"
This is authentication failure, right?  Netscape prompts for
my earthlink login/passwd, but eventually lets me in.  Am I
stuck with netscape, or can I somehow convince trn to authorize
me correctly?  Is there another simple newsreader or rn version
that does work?  Any comments appreciated....
