using ssh for x forwarding is a good thing. depending on the bandwidth and latency of the connection you're tunnelling over, you might also consider using one of the X protocol compressors (LBX or DXPC). this came up recently on one of these LUG lists. i should experiment with it and see if i can work up a recipe for it. t.
