did you get this rpm to run under 7.0?

How did you run the command to get it from the RH site?

I run into the problem that the rpm can't handle the higher revision level
of the packages,

I get:

rpm -i gd-devel-1.8.3-4.i386.rpm
only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM

Then, the newer rpm for rpm: rpm-4.0.2-0.34.i386.rpm gives the same msg.
Now I install the source from rpm-4.0.tar.gz.

But that has a linking problem:

gcc -g -O2 -D_GNU_SOURCE -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wmissing-prototypes -Wno-char-subscripts -o .libs/dump dump.o
../build/.libs/librpmbuild.so ../lib/.libs/librpm.so -ldb1
../rpmio/.libs/librpmio.so -L/usr/local/lib -lz -lbz2
../popt/.libs/libpopt.so -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib
../lib/.libs/librpm.so: undefined reference to `db3Free'
../lib/.libs/librpm.so: undefined reference to `db3New'

Thanks,

Samartha
