I got the stock KRUD (even without the change) working on my laptop at the 
BLUG meeting last week. Switching all the DNS settings etc. back and forth 
from work to home settings is a pain, and I think I want to change my home 
lan's addresses from 192.168.1.*, which is also being used at the office, so 
my hosts file will be less messy, but my laptop is working fine. 

The training lab laptops are another matter: they have a gpf in apmd on boot 
that I haven't had a chance to track down yet. This seems to block the pcmcia 
card manager from coming up, so they don't see the lan cards. I'll attack 
that problem later this week, (they're being used for a Windows based class 
today and tomorrow).  I suspect they would benefit from a newer kernel, since 
they are based on the Intel 815 chipset... unfortunately, ClearCase, the 
product we are training people in, only supports stock RedHat kernels. With 
any luck, RedHat/KRUD 7.2 will be out before we need the laptops for a class. 
I may try downloading the RedHat beta later this week to see if it helps.
