[lug] RH 7.2 Sound problem

Your message prompted a call to tech support and I finally have a better
understanding of
the situation.  They didn't install an analog cable from
the CDROM to the sound card, so sound in Linux won't work.  As you mentioned
below,
digital sound is enabled in W2K.  Apparently, by going into the control
panel for the CDROM
and disabling digital sound, the front jack will start working again for all
OSs.  If I also install
an analog cable from the CDROM to the sound card, sound should start working
under
linux.

Does anyone know if Linux will support CDs digitally as W2K does?
