[lug] My folly: Lucent soft modem AMR.

I don't know this modem at all, but I would be kind of surprised if the
Lucent modem didn't use the Lucent chipset.  Have you tried the Lucent
modem drivers?  This is one of the better supported softmodem chipsets
under linux.
