[lug] DSL OR CABLE MODEM

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that cable is the equivalent
of being on a hub with a big collision domain while DSL is equivalent to
being on a switch?  I'd love to know if this is an out-of-date theory or
not.

What really is the difference b/w dsl and cable modem. I have never use dsl
before,but thinking of switching from cable modem to dsl due to price.
