[lug] shm filesystem and RH/KRUD 7.3

I noticed while test building (several times till I get it right) a KRUD
7.3 install that after the boot is done, it continues to mount a shared
memory (/dev/shm) filesystem. It appears that it is not used. Can anyone
tell me why it is mounting this in the first place, and why it isn't
unmounted when boot is finished, or if it should be unmounted? The entry
in /etc/fstab is:
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

Can anyone tell me anything about this, or advise for/against removing
the fstab entry?
