Hi John,

I've used and liked BlueFish.  But I keep coming back to Emacs.  Habit,
I guess since I use Emacs for so many things.

For a beginner, you can very easily produce HTML with either Open Office
(http://www.openoffice.org/) or AbiWord (http://abiword.com/).  Both of
these programs are quite intuitive for any former MSWord user.

Another good thing to use when producing HTML is the "tidy" program
(http://tidy.sourceforge.net/) or the very similar validator web page 
(http://validator.w3.org/) which is made available by the W3C folks. 
These tools are helpful as they can both clean up your HTML files and
help you learn how to produce truly standards-compliant documents.
