I assume you mean FAT32 disks?  Are you sure they're FAT32/FAT16 and not 
NTFS?

FAT32 reads seem to work fine in the 2.2.19 kernel.  I just compiled in 
FAT32 support (well, all FAT support), and mount with 'mount -t vfat...'
