I'm not sure what you're looking for. The DOM Inspector opens in its own 
GUI if you open it from tools, and then you point it at a web page or in 
File menu open an existing window. I seem to recall in some cases you 
must first open edit, preferences, advanced, and install the DOM 
inspector. In any case, it doesn't open in a tab it opens as a separate app.
