You mean they're sending HTML-only email (not multipart with both text and
HTML versions?)

Not sure if this helps, but the relevant part of my .muttrc is:

----
# alt/multipart precedence
alternative_order text/plain text/html text

# Automatically use entries from mailcap to view these MIME types
# auto_view <type> [ <type> ... ]
auto_view text/html
----

And I'm not sure why but my /etc/mailcap has about a dozen entries for
"text/html". Do packages just keep tacking on lines to that file or something
in Debian? Not sure, but it seems to work. I've never gotten an email in
Mutt that I couldn't just "r" reply to. Maybe I'm just lucky and don't
associate with HTML-only-email kinds of losers? :)
Or maybe a MIME-type in /etc/mailcap is being provide by a package I have that
you don't? I don't fully comprehend mailcap, although it's not supposed to be
that complicated.
