Related to my problem with NIS, part of the reason I can't get root when it
happens is because I now only have two TTYs, tty1 shows output from startx and
tty2 is the X terminal.  I haven't changed anything in inittab, and it shows
this:

1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1
2:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty2
3:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty3
4:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty4
5:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty5
6:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty6

and runlevel says "2".  Has something changed in Debian Etch to get rid of all
the ttys?
