So SPF is the answer to bounces from forged mail.  For other spam we 
have helo checks, RBLs, and filtering.

Anyone using greylisting?  That was the first spam protection I set up. 
  It was dead simple (not counting a bug I ran across) and has done so 
well that I haven't bothered with anything more involved.
