Just tried to get a credit line for my 9-year-old cash-flow positive
business to buffer hiring a new employee.  This process was incredibly
arduous.  I eventually gave up, because they wanted the financial
statements from another company in which I have a controlling
interest.  The loan officer said that it was just standard operating
procedure nowadays.

ViaWest stopped accepting credit cards for monthly payments.  This is
a big source of reward miles for me. :)  I complained, but it turns
out many other people complained, and they started accepting credit
cards again.  While this cuts their profit margin, they have an
increased profit margin from lock-in.  I pay around $125/kwh for the
extra power we need.  Obviously, I can't just put in a line of my
own...
