[lug] Looking for sample code: stream HD video from camera to RTP/RTCP client

I'm deep into an embedded project (Compulab CM-X300) to stream from an HD
camera to an RTP client on the Net.

I'm looking closely at v4l2, VLC and gstreamer.

 

Does anyone have good experience in this area?  Suggestions for sample code,
implementation approaches?

 

I'll need to build the v4l2 drivers for some cameras and add them to my
embedded kernel.  I'm using crosstool-ng, and making slow progress.  Any
experience with that tool set?
