This is pretty thoroughly indirect by now, but forwarded anyway, just in
case y'all know somebody suitable.

I know that John was pretty happy working in this group.

The Linux team inside Amazon Web Services is looking for passionate
engineers, managers, and product managers to join us as we grow our Linux
operating system capabilities. You would be part of the team that builds and
manages the operating systems behind the leader in cloud computing as well
as the public Amazon Linux AMI (http://aws.amazon.com/amazon-linux-ami/).

Roles we are hiring for and basic requirements:

- Systems Engineers: serious skills in failure analysis, automation, and
performance tuning required, experience building Linux operating systems and
packages beneficial. Entry level through senior roles.

- Software Development Engineers: skills in the construction and maintenance
of Linux operating systems and packages beneficial, as well as broader
application development skills in common languages. Entry level through
senior roles.

- Principal Kernel Engineer: deep knowledge of the Linux kernel and
virtualization stacks a core requirement. The ability to perform deep
performance analysis and tuning is a core function for this role.

- Linux Product Manager: experience in product management of major software
products and a strong Linux working knowledge are critical.

- Kernel Team Manager- direct hands on experience with the Linux kernel
development process is a big plus here, as is the ability to do hands on
software engineering management.

All jobs are in Seattle, WA, although we will consider open roles in Dublin,
Ireland for the right candidate.

If you're interested in any of these roles please drop me a note and let's
chat. And please forward this on to anyone you know how you think might be
interested.

Thanks!

Nathan
