Ok I'm redoing my thread on the startx problem because I made a (stupid) typo
in the original. The error I am getting is as follows after typing "startx":
XF86Config: /etc/XF86Config
(**) stands for supplied, (--) stands for probed/default values
(**) XKB: keycodes: "xfree86"
(**) XKB: types: "default"
(**) XKB: compat: "default"
(**) XKB: symbols: "us(pc101)"
(**) XKB: geometry: "pc"
(**) XKB: rules: "xfree86"
(**) XKB: model: "pc104"
(**) XKB: layout: "us"
(**) Mouse: type: PS/2, device: /dev/mouse, resolution: 100
(**) Mouse: buttons: 3, 3 button emulation (timeout: 50ms)
(**) FBDev: Graphics device ID: "Primary Card"
(**) FBDev: Monitor ID: "Primary Monitor"
Warning: The directory "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi" does not exist.
Entry deleted from font path.
(**) FontPath set to
"/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo"
Fatal server error:
open_framebuffer: failed to open /dev/fb0 (No such device)
I have no idea what a framebuffer is or the device related to it. Any ideas?
Justin
