[lug] anyone out there running ximian 1.4?

can someone run:

  gnome-libs --libs gal

and see what, if anything, you get for output. i am working on installing
gnocam and it keeps complaining that i do not have a recent enough version
of GAL running, even though, i do.
the configure script uses the above command to check for gal which, for
me, returns with Unknown library `gal'
