[lug] moving from mysql to oracle

I have the unique joy of adding oracle to the list of software that I
get to install and support.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain
around how to get things set up (i.e. create some table and allow
certain users and/or ip addresses access).

Can anyone recommend a good reference to get me started?  The Oracle
documentation is dense and doesn't lend itself to the beginner.
