[lug] up2date and .hdr files

The version of up2date originally distributed with RH 6.2 is horribly 
slow on old machines with low RAM.  What kind of machine are you 
installing on?

I have had good luck with these machines downloading the up2date RPM and 
all of its dependencies by hand, updating those by hand with RPM and 
then running up2date.
