Speaking of telnet services... This, I think, currently stands as *the*
defining achievement in internet technology: 'telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl'
(telnet://towel.blinkenlights.nl).

I was completely floored when I saw this.

Hah.  CDNow started as a telnet service!  Not that I used it then, but
I could have.
